We chat with Louise Curtis – Director of Lollypotz
If you're obsessed with chocolate and business, Lollypotz is an ideal way for you to operate your own franchise with a company that boasts a unique, award-winning business model.
What's more appealing: working from the convenience of your own home or out of a physical store? At Lollypotz, either choice is possible for chocolate lovers dreaming of running a fun, flexible business that is proven to profit.
After all, Lollypotz is Australia's largest chocolate bouquet supplier, one of the fastest growing franchise operations and has won a stream of awards to go with the titles. These results come from a simple yet effective concept: the chocolate bouquets, hampers and gifts replace traditional flowers.
"We are better than flowers because we don't die," explains Lollypotz director Louise Curtis. "Chocolate is also cheaper and a great gift alternative for men."
Lollypotz franchise owners have the option to operate as an at-home internet business. This involves receiving consumer orders and delivering them, as well as looking after their own corporate clients in the area. The alternative setup option is to sell products directly out of a traditional bricks-and-mortar shopfront.
Today, Curtis says Lollypotz sells more than 200,000 bouquets annually across its 43 franchised and company-owned operations in Australia, and three in New Zealand.
"Our service is second to none. We provide same-day delivery around Australia."
Lollypotz's nationwide website is another advantage for franchise owners, since it enables consumers anywhere around Australia to place an order for delivery within the franchise owner's exclusive territory.
In order to grow the business even further for the benefit of both the franchisee and franchisor, Lollypotz's national strategy is to set up new franchises everywhere – particularly in Melbourne.
Lollypotz will have a stall at the upcoming Expo in Melbourne, where prospective franchisees can learn about the advantages of being part of Lollypotz's growing family of franchisees sharing similar goals and objectives.
Louise Curtis's tips for potential franchisees looking for a new business
• Look for something that you enjoy doing, not just as a business, but as a pastime. If you don't have passion, there's no point.
• The business should also suit your skills. There's no point owning a fitness franchise if you don't go to the gym, or coffee business if you don't enjoy coffee. You need to love the product or service and be passionate about it.
